When I first started my blog, let alone my Instagram page, the thought of someone being an Influencer or even having that title was unheard of. The word influencer has become a job title much like your local doctor or butcher. These are the people who encourage you to wear that new trend, buy that cool beauty product or spend all your coins on the ideal lifestyle. Like many things in the world, these people can have both a positive and negative effect on how people experience their own lives.
I know everyone has seen a celebrity or top Instagrammer post something or had an experience that you wish you could be living. It can either push harder for that one day or make you feel bad that you aren’t on that level. Sometimes the things that social media shows can make you lose sight of who you truly are. You know that saying, “Life you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything.”
If you notice many people, even top influencers, take breaks from social media from time to time and even unfollow people who make them feel a bit down about their lives. I won’t be ashamed to tell you I’ve been there! Although I use my platform to spread all the good vibes, there have been times when I’ve gotten so bored of everyone looking exactly the same and wondered if I was doing something wrong. Social media can be a scary place but it can also be a place that will help gain so much knowledge, express yourself and build genuine connections.
